Life is a Hostile Safari

Not all those who Wander are Lost

Hi Friends...

I am Shahzad - a Petroleum Engineer.  NO...  not the one who fills up the tank of your cars at a Petrol Station. But the one who shows the Oil, stored 1000s of feet down the ground a way out to the earth's surface, so that it gets refined into various useful components - one of them being the petrol that the petrol station guy puts in your car.

I am a Field Service Engineer and as an integral part of my job, I go round the world to some of the most hostile of places in quest for oil. Well... you will not find these in any map (in Google Maps you will not know where to look for them) or in any travel guide directory. These places are untouched by the any technology .... yes ... even your mobile network will not work.

But then that is what traveling should be all about - You don't know where you are going. You just have the thrill, the passion, the expectation to find something UNEXPECTED. Traveling to places where you know 'what to see and where to look for them' should not be a muse of a traveler. If you do so you are more of a tourist than a traveler.

Well ... This travel blog of mine will be guide for you to places unheard off. So get ready to be thrilled by me experience in the hostile of places - Deserts, Oceans, Jungles and occasionally to some of the best known traveling destinations of the world.

This is Shahzad ...  Signing off for now with these awesome traveler quote, to be back with some LIVE coverage of My OIL SAFARI ... The journey for Oil.

“A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.” – Lao Tzu

“Tourists don’t know where they’ve been, travelers don’t know where they’re going.” – Paul Theroux
